Our Story.

"Most people don't spend a lot of time thinking about poetry. Right?

They have a life to live, and they're not really that concerned with Allen Ginsberg's poems or anybody's poems, until their father dies, they go to a funeral, you lose a child, somebody breaks your heart, they don't love you anymore, and all of a sudden, you're desperate for making sense out of this life, and, "Has anybody ever felt this bad before? How did they come out of this cloud?"

Or the inverse -- something great. You meet somebody and your heart explodes. You love them so much, you can't even see straight. You know, you're dizzy. "Did anybody feel like this before? What is happening to me?" And that's when art's not a luxury, it's actually sustenance..... We need it."

This brand was born from a journey through profound darkness, a path I never imagined I would walk. After dedicating 13 years of my life to a relationship, building a home and a family, I discovered a betrayal that shattered my world. The pain was so consuming that it led me to a moment of such profound despair that I no longer wanted to live.

In the aftermath, through the compassionate insights of medical experts and love ones around me, I began to understand the true nature of what I had endured: the emotional abuse that had taken place at the end of the relationship. This realization was both devastating and liberating. It was the moment the fog began to lift, and I understood that my pain was not a reflection of my worth, but a consequence of a manipulative dynamic.

That turning point marked the beginning of my healing. It was a slow, often painful, but ultimately empowering process of reclaiming my identity, rebuilding my spirit, and finding my voice. Through this journey, I discovered a profound inner strength and a renewed sense of self-worth. This brand is a testament to that journey—a beacon of hope born from the ashes of betrayal and a quiet celebration of resilience.

In the quiet moments of my healing, I found solace in creating. Each design was an expression of the emotions I couldn't always put into words—a visual message of strength, resilience, and hope. What began as a personal form of therapy soon grew into a deeper purpose. I realized these designs could serve as a quiet reminder for others on their own journeys, and so, Dead Fake Apparel was born.

I have lost my home, my fiancée, my family and nearly my life, but there is always hope. Through Dead Fake I have found something and hopefully you can find something that resonates with you. That's why we don't have one "art style" because no one person is the same, you are not battling the same war as the other person sat next to you.

Ultimately, this brand exists to provide a moment of comfort and strength for you. My journey taught me the importance of having a quiet reminder to stay strong and hold onto hope. By wearing our designs, you’re not just wearing a t-shirt—you're wearing a symbol of resilience and a testament to your own strength. You are joining a community of like-minded people on a shared journey, and a quiet promise that you are not alone.
